Our challenge
When the founders of AviAMP approached us, they had a vision of a database-driven website that would match aviation professionals with aviation companies around the world.
"There was a gap in the market for a bespoke recruitment website for the aviation industry," explains Merrick Seymour, IT & Administrations Director at AviAMP. "We wanted to create a one-stop-shop where everyone from cabin crew to engineers could manage their career search and where recruiters at airlines, MRO companies and other aviation businesses could save time and money finding potential employees,"
"We were looking for an online database specialist, preferably in the UK, that could help us bring our vision and a complex brief to life. Simplicity was the first company we contacted - they responded immediately and we were impressed by the strategy they proposed and their hands-on approach," he adds.
What we did
Once AviAMP commissioned Simplicity for the project, our team had to quickly learn how the highly competitive aviation industry works so that we could develop and integrate the complex database, which works on three levels - client-facing (for aviation companies), member-facing (for aviation professionals) and administrative (for AviAMP).
Aviation professionals who register on the AviAMP website for free can save themselves time and effort by submitting their career profile in one place. The benefits for recruiters include being able to find local personnel at short notice and track individual members' career paths ahead of fleet expansion or company growth.
Merrick comments,
"We needed a particularly complex data retrieval system to match aviation professionals with a variety of trades and qualifications - and in different geographical locations - with the wide range of companies within the aviation industry. It took a lot of time and commitment from both Simplicity and our team at AviAMP to achieve this."
Following a number of iterations of the database and a period of pre-registration for members, the AviAMP Aviation Personnel Promotion website (www.aviamp.com) launched in May 2010.
The results
