    Resource Sharing

    Teachable.net

Simplicity provides strategic development consultancy to Web start-up Teachable, which helps teachers to share high-quality classroom resources on the internet.

  2. Teachers often need to create resources to use with pupils such as worksheets and lesson plans.
  3. To share these resources with other teachers - and benefit from sharing by others - the resource is uploaded to a resource sharing website.
  4. The public website provides registration and upload facilities for teachers submitting resource files.
  5. The resources are automatically converted to PDF and stored securely in an online database.
  6. Staff editors are notified when a new resource is added, which they can view through the secure management system.
  7. Staff may review the document to check quality. Unsuitable submissions may be rejected with a message to the originator.
  8. Staff may edit the document when necessary to improve quality and consistency.
  9. Once the document is ready for publication it may be classified with search keywords and published on the site.
  10. Teachers looking for resources may use the intelligent search and browse features to explore the database.
  11. A read-only, watermarked version of the document is free but a small subscription fee gives access to the editable, unwatermarked document.
  12. The selected document(s) are downloaded to the subscriber's desktop and are ready to use.
